Laboratory of Philosophy, Ethics, Policy and Communication of Science and Technology
The main goal of the PhEPoC-ST(LAB) is the philosophical and historical analysis of science and technology, focusing on the processes of production, organization, communication and practical utilization of scientific and technological knowledge, as well as on ethical and policy issues of relevance to science and technology.
Description
The aim is to support research focused on the philosophical analysis of science and technology, exploring the processes of their production, communication, and use, while also addressing ethical concerns and the role of values in scientific and technological research, practice, and policy-making.
The laboratory seeks to carry out collaborative research projects and foster all forms of cooperation with research groups, laboratories, centers, institutes, and academic institutions both in Greece and internationally. It actively organizes scientific lectures, workshops, seminars, symposiums, conferences, and other academic events, as well as undertakes the publication of scientific works and the invitation of distinguished Greek and international scholars and researchers.
Additionally, it cooperates with public sector bodies, local government organizations, and scientific and professional associations—both Greek and international—to study and address issues aligned with the laboratory’s research agenda.
Finally, it is also authorized to provide services to private individuals in accordance with the provisions of Presidential Decree 159/1984 (A’ 53).
